The Weekend Roundup, 'Q'

It is always great to return to a favored meme. The Weekend Roundup, hosted by Tom. This week's letter is tough but I have ideas...Starting with 'Q' includes the New York City Borough of Queens, one of the paces where I grew up, at 203-11 42nd Avenue in Bayside Queens. The year is 1962, I and my siblings are in the top photos, below that are three of my sisters and other neighborhood girls, same address...

Here is a Quintet of Quackers in the Housatonic River,  Shelton, CT

A Favorite this week is this squirrel having a snack on our patio yesterday. A winsome visitor...Have a great week all!

The Weekend Roundup, 'O'

In this odd time, it is always great to return to a favored meme. The Weekend Roundup, hosted by Tom. The fourth vowel is featured...

Given my heritage, the Buckeye State, Ohio, starts with 'O'. Above, I believe this to be 1938 and my dad is standing in front of a covered wagon emblazoned with Fort Ohio. A cursory look brought me to a historic fort near Cumberland, Maryland. Children were dressed up for such occasions it seems in the 1930s...

A year later, my dad is standing in front of the Ohio exhibit at the New York World's Fair in 1939.

About 15 minutes from home is the town of Oxford, Connecticut

Last Winter, Patti captured this lady Cardinal with its Orange beak.

A Favorite was captured last from inside the vehicle (way more than 6 ft. from anybody :), this being the reservoir at Witek Park in Derby CT as a new season begins. Have a happy Easter and a great week!

The Weekend Roundup, 'N'

In these days of staying home I am happy to see the wider world in Tom's fun meme, The Weekend Roundup.  The letter 'N' is featured...

New York City, specifically at Times Square, 1939. My dad at age 11 in an eerily quiet place, looks like the sparse people-free street like today...

Northern Boulevard in the NYC borough of Queens is a major east-west thoroughfare. I grew up about 3 blocks to the right of this view...

An iconic view of New York City is the Freedom Tower

This mirror is attached to a 1967 Chevrolet Nova

A Favorite is the view of the forsythia in our yard, the bold yellow leaves indicating Spring is here. Have a great week all!
