The Weekend Roundup, 'I'

It is a lovely Friday in Southern New England, so a perfect to participate in Tom's Fun meme The Weekend Roundup. The third vowel is our featured prompt and some of my choices are not of the season - but work well!

First is Incline. This steep passageway is Logan Avenue in the Ohio River hamlet of Mingo Junction, Ohio. I'm guessing this Incline to be 11-12°, lots of fun in the  snowy Winter I'd imagine...

International. My Grandpa, left, is pictured post customs in Canada, early 1940s. There is also another 'I'  here - see if you can find...Imperial!

Ice Skating. My Dad and big sister Michele (aged 4) in St.Paul Minnesota, Jan. 1959

More Ice Skating. Here are a pair of figure skaters showing their flexibility on a rink in our hometown of Ansonia, Connecticut

A Favorite. Patti captured this stunning moon on Monday and I love it! The phase here is Another moon photo this evening, thanks to a mostly clear sky.
The moon is in waxing crescent phase, 36 percent illumination. Have a great week all!

Shadow Shot Sunday - Social Distancing in the Shade

It has been a while when we crowded together, but that's where we are.  So here is his guy in a normally crowded park social distancing in the shade. So for Shadow Shot Sunday 2,  we are so happy to see the lone fisherman avoiding the crowds at Osbornedale State Park in Derby CT.

The Weekend Roundup, 'G'

I am happy to be back for this week's installment of Tom's fun meme The Weekend Roundup. Today's letter prompt is 'G' so I'll offer an eclectic look at said letter...

Starting with 'G' and my Favorite today is Golden Retriever. Last week we met Max, an energetic and outgoing 11 month old 85 lb / 39 kg beauty! I love the 'smile' we so often see in this breed. He is as friendly as he looks!

The always lovely Patti has a yard full of very friendly Gnomes. This one is awaiting his instructions for the day :)

How about a tantalizing bowl of Gnocchi Bolognese at Copper City Cafe in our burg of Ansonia, Connecticut?

Here is the Derby Connecticut town Green absolutely full of green...

Finally, here is the ubiquitous and classic white Congregational church on the town green in Goshen Connecticut. This is the classic old New England view everywhere. Have a great week all!

The Weekend Roundup, 'E'

As Saturday beckons, It's time for Tom's fun meme The Weekend Roundup. The second vowel is the prompt and although some of these may have been seen before, they answer the letter prompt nicely :)

Having grown up in East Hartford Connecticut, the top memory is from Easter Sunday 1964 and the then six Villers childre. I'm resplendent in my red blazer...

Here is a few months earlier in December 1963 at my East Hartford home. Back then, even boys jumped rope!

Next is a 1959 Edsel automobile. It was Ford's folly, only being produced for three model years (1958-1960). Ford lost over $200 Million dollars in their writedown, about $1.7 Billion today! Here is a nicely restored example...

Here is my old Ford E150 Club Wagon. I sold it with 158,000 miles on it and it had another 100,000 miles of life left in it - a durable vehicle!

A Favorite is last night's moon in it's in waxing gibbous phase at 89 percent illumination on a beautiful and clear night sky. Have a great week all!
