It has been a while when we crowded together, but that's where we are. So here is his guy in a normally crowded park social distancing in the shade. So for Shadow Shot Sunday 2, we are so happy to see the lone fisherman avoiding the crowds at Osbornedale State Park in Derby CT.

Shadow Shot Sunday - Reflective, Backwards and Obtuse
Reflections and shadows often conspire to alter our views of reality for Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Like here...I was riding on the conveyance while stopped at a red light ad captured this fun-house look. Next to us was a milk tanker truck, its oval stainless steel hull offering a neat view of the bus; reflections are also seen from inside and the shadows add a hint of texture to the frame. Reality can look strange at times...

Shadow Shot Sunday - My Shadowy Self
The sun's angle is changing to its Summer mode of just above. Knowing that I was casting a shadow, I asked the always lovely Patti to capture my better side shadow, which she did. Why from behind? During this covid era, I haven't had a haircut in months and from the back, it looks better :) My entry for Shadow Shot Sunday 2 was captured at Osbornedale Sate Park in our neighbor of Derby, CT. It was a lovely day to chase shadows!

Shadow Shot Sunday - Tall Table
I've been waiting for a morning like this morning. The patio awaits frivolity and grilled cuisine...and us too! So for Shadow Shot Sunday our patio table looks twice as tall as usual under the almost summer sun of Southern New England. I am ready for the Season!

Shadow Shot Sunday - Bird Brunch Bunch
Shadow Shot Sunday 2 takes us back to lunchtime patio doings on this warmish (51°F /51°C) Winter day. A veritable flock of starlings (we think) stopped by to peck at the block of suet on the table. Bon Appétit to our avian friends :)

Shadow Shot Sunday - Downtown
Shadow Shot Sunday 2 arrives on a warm-ish winter day in the northeast (53°F / 12°C). Of course, that's not warm in the Sonoran desert though :) The Chifrijo restaurant is bathed in shade and in the reflection of Ansonia City Hal is bathed in shadow. I've not eaten there yet, but locals who have tasted the cuisines of Peruv and Costa Rica say it's fabulous, so do need to get there soon. The shadows are the desert!

Shadow Shot Sunday - The Way Out
Shadow Shot Sunday 2 takes me back a week. For me a (non-serious) issue brought me to the ER at Griffin Hospital in Derby. Naturally, like most ER's, it is devoid of color and natural light, everything from walls to most of the furniture is either gray, beige or black and little to no natural light.
Functional, sterile and austere – but when discharged later, we passed the automatic door to leave and a sunny and shadowy world awaited. Natural light and strong, well-defined shadows prompted the phone to be found and the scene captured. This sun filled tunnel can be looked as an abyss, but instead of going into it, we passed outside of it. I love unexpected shadows!

Shadow Shot Sunday - Seymour Superhighway Shadows
Early Autumn starts to add color to this staid New England scene. And even though it looks country-ish, we are actually in an urban area (which is nicely hidden by the growth along the Naugatuck River) in Seymour CT. For Shadow Shot Sunday 2, here is a bridge crossing that leaves a reflection on the water, and as semi-rural as this scene looks, Ct Route 8 carries an average of 62,000 vehicles per day. In this view, we cannot hear the traffic so wan can enjoy the shadows in this semi-serine scene...

Shadow Shot Sunday - Highlights in Pink
Shadow Shot Sunday 2 arrives on the same day as a great 5K, Pounding the Pavement for Seymour Pink. The always lovely Patti, an eight year breast cancer survivor always participates with her cancer aftercare support group Circle of Friends. Here she is passing Trinity Episcopal Church in neighboring Seymour. Many of the houses and churches along the route decorate in pink - the simple old New England church adorns simply with pink balloons and plenty of shadows!

Shadow Shot Sunday - Mum is the word...
We look for the shadowy underworld (in this case, literally :) here, there and just about everywhere! Here are mums with color under a beautiful autumnal day in Southern New England. Sunflower Farm in nearby Orange, CT is full of these beauties Since we never know when the frost will arrive, we savor these days. Shadow Shot Sunday 2 seems the perfect place to see bold hues and shadows too!

Shadow Shot Sunday - Crosshatch
(Note: I'm migrating my blog content to our Valley-Voice CT Newsletter blog https://thevalley-voicenews.blogspot.com)
This week's post for Shadow Shot Sunday 2 allows us to see the more stylish side of nature - or not. Here is a young male cardinal wearing plaid made of iron. Since '70s plaid (see bonus photo of yours truly in a stunning 1975 motif :) is returning back in style for humans, why not in the avian world too?
