The Weekend Roundup, 'O'

In this odd time, it is always great to return to a favored meme. The Weekend Roundup, hosted by Tom. The fourth vowel is featured...

Given my heritage, the Buckeye State, Ohio, starts with 'O'. Above, I believe this to be 1938 and my dad is standing in front of a covered wagon emblazoned with Fort Ohio. A cursory look brought me to a historic fort near Cumberland, Maryland. Children were dressed up for such occasions it seems in the 1930s...

A year later, my dad is standing in front of the Ohio exhibit at the New York World's Fair in 1939.

About 15 minutes from home is the town of Oxford, Connecticut

Last Winter, Patti captured this lady Cardinal with its Orange beak.

A Favorite was captured last from inside the vehicle (way more than 6 ft. from anybody :), this being the reservoir at Witek Park in Derby CT as a new season begins. Have a happy Easter and a great week!

The Weekend Roundup - 'O'

Friday arrives for the week, so it is now time for Tom's Fun meme, The Weekend Roundup. The featured letter, the fourth vowel, offers a lot of intriguing opportunities...

Begins with 'O' takes me back to Grandma Agnes and Ralph Villers, my grandparents. This fills the bill as they lived at 1645 Oregon Avenue in Steubenville, Ohio from 1926 until their passing in 1981. We visited on occasion and i went to college nearby. that front porch is such a reminder of years and decades past!
Aunt Terry, 1959.
The Villers  of Connecticut, 1967. Yes, I'm on the lower left...

The Villers from North Dakota (w/Grandpa), 1976.
Grandpa, 1645 Oregon Avenue, 1947
Orange begins with 'O'. This sunset has quite a bit of orange in it.

The wheels on this 1890's Boneshaker bicycle look like the letter 'O' I'd say they roll over continuously (as long as the rider pedals that is :). It's a cool design although I cannot imagine it rides smoothly on its iron wheels!

A Favorite. Nothing fancy, this photo from yesterday just showcases how slowly the foliage is changing color this year - very similar to 2011. But a pleasant view nonetheless. Have a great week all!
